writing a reflection about the research
Humanities
- Instead of reflecting on the actual draft, this time I would like you to reflect on your experience with researching and writing the Research Report in a word document that you will submit as Writing Exercise 9 (at least a half of a page of writing). Remember to set up your document to follow MLA format rules (see the top post in this tab).
- First, I would like you to write a well-developed paragraph describing your process for the Research Report (like we did in the Midterm Memo for Papers 1 or 2): where did you begin your research (wvu library main search, databases, google, etc.)? Where did you go next to find sources on your topic? where exactly did you find the most helpful sources (library main search, a specific database, google search, etc)? what search term(s) did you find most effective? After finishing your initial research, did you feel ready to begin writing your draft? When writing your conference draft, what challenges did you face? did you run into any roadblocks? how did you get through these challenges? did you do any research while writing the first draft? why – what did you still need to know? what did you learn about your draft at our conference? what exactly did you change or add to your draft after the conference for your peer response draft? what are two specific things you learned about your draft from your peers’ feedback? what, if anything, did you change in your draft on the advice of your peers? While revising for the final for now draft, what did you change or add to your draft and why? Overall, are you confident in your ‘final for now’ draft of Paper 4? Why/why not? In the next paragraph, assess your final for now draft in terms of the assignment requirements: does it meet all? exceed any? which, if any, requirements does your draft need to meet still? Do your feel your draft needs a lot of revision at this point or do you feel it is close to completion? why?
