Choose TWO visual artists that were BORN after January 1, 1900 from your E-book and answer the 6 questions below for each artist.

PLEASE NOTE: YOU MUST SUBMIT BOTH ARTISTS AT THE SAME TIME!

CRITERIA:

  • INELIGIBLE artists include: Filmmakers (including animators), performance artists (excluding Happening artists), actors, graphic designers, craft artists and architects. Artist works should be in a visual media such as painting, sculpture, mixed media, installation, drawing….
  • Ineligible websites: Wikipedia.org, artsy.net, artcyclopedia.com…. (or any other “general” art site) or any site that is a “sale site”
  • Artists that work as a team count as a single artist.
  • For each artist: Number, copy & answer each of the SIX questions and then answer each question individually (re-write the question and then answer the question).
  • Points will be deducted for missing or incomplete responses.
  • Follow the Question and Answer format.
  • Assignments submitted in the improper format WILL NOT RECEIVE ANY CREDIT

  • NO CREDIT WILL BE GIVEN FOR INELIGIBLE ARTISTS OR ARTISTS BORN PRIOR TO 1900

QUESTIONS:

  1. Artist name, year of birth, country of birth and Chapter artist is found in your E-book (1 pt.)

For in-text citations with electronic books use the authors last name and chapter if there is not a page number. Here is an example, It is believed the differences between an artisan and and artist are the four roles that an artist could take on in their creations. They are…. (Sayer, ch. 2). Where as before with the paper book it would read (Sayer, p. 10-20).

For the works cited section, cite it as a regular book and add e-book at the end of your citation after the year of publication.

  1. Complete website where you found information about the artist. This website must be an “informational” site that is specific to your artist. (1 pt)
  2. What is his/her primary media? (1 pt)
  3. List TWO locations where the artist work is currently displayed or was recently displayed. Be specific. (2 pts)
  4. Write a short paragraph about why this artist interests you. For full credit your response must be at least 60 words. (2 pts)
  5. Locate on the Internet one piece of the artist’s work that is not found in A World of Art. Then- IN YOUR OWN WORDS – Fully describe its media (form / materials) and content (meaning / story). Include the full website where you found the piece. For full credit, your response must be at least 60 words. (3 pts)
