  • Explain, in general, how choices of career theory impact what is done in career counseling/guidance and what the client or student will experience in the career counseling/development process. The answer should include relevant examples and explore the role of information gathering, hypothesis building, and treatment planning. Also, discuss the role of assessment. At large, a complete answer will include advantages and disadvantages, explore theory-specific issues, examine cultural and ethical considerations, and explore the difficulty with the myth of “The magic test” that will “tell me what I should be.”
  • Discuss special concerns and issues in career counseling with diverse cultural groups. Why is it critical to have culturally responsive counseling? How does Fouad and her colleagues explore this critical career issue? How is this related to different theories discussed so far? Provide specific examples as necessary.
