Every profession is defined by its values. These values inform the work that is done by professionals in the field. This is true of the human services profession as well. It is important to have a clear understanding of the values in a profession in order to be an effective practitioner. In this Seminar, you will explore the values common to the human services profession.

Please come to Seminar prepared to discuss the following questions:

  • What are the values common to Human Service Professionals?
  • How do these values impact service delivery?
  • How do helping professionals in a variety of settings approach the issue of ethics in their daily practice?
  • What implications do these approaches have for future practice and future research with respect to ethical decision making?
