HLS3303 Columbia Southern Health Care Issues of Chemical Warfare Paper

Humanities

Agent Orange relates to an illicit use of chemicals used during the Vietnam War, which officially ended in April 1975. The impact of the use of Agent Orange remains a haunting reminder to the world of the devastating, long-lasting effects this chemical warfare can and will inflict on the civilian population and military veterans from such a war. Today, the debate rages on as citizens of Vietnam, the United States, Britain, Australia, and other countries who participated in the Vietnam War are suffering and dying from health issues directly relating to their exposure to this dangerous chemical.

If you were put in charge of United Nations policy, do you believe governments and military organizations should be held liable for health issues arising from the use of chemical warfare, even if those issues do not surface for over 50 years? Why, or why not?
